On Building Our Children
Deut. 6:6,7, tells us to impress these commandments on our children. When times are tough we cry, “God give us men to match the mountain. God says, “Here’s the building material. I’m giving you children.” Our children are to be developed into champions for God. — “These commandments I give you today are to be upon your hearts.” Parents be the Godly examples. ”Impress them on your children.” Deliberately teach them Gods’ word daily. ”Talk about the principles of God. Your kids won’t catch truth by osmosis; you have to talk it and live it. Watch for opportunities, because teachable moments come and go unannounced. Seize the day and you will find that God is equipping you to build your children up into great young men and women of God. Love your kids today and raise them up to the next level.

Happy New Year
No matter what 2011 looked like, the good and bad; God desires to make all things new. He says in His Word, “behold I do a new thing, even now it shall spring forth”. That’s what I love about the New Year. It’s a time that speaks of a fresh start. Keep in mind that real change must happen internally before it can happen externally. And so we’ve designated January as spiritual emphasis month. We will have several prayer opportunities, along with a unity worship service, and our annual 21 day Daniel Fast planned for Jan. 10 – Jan. 31. We encourage each of you to seek the Lord Jesus with us and experience His wonderful favor in 2012. Your life will never be the same. I really believe that this year is going to be the greatest year of your life!

God’s Will
“In everything give thanks for this is God’s will, in Christ Jesus, for you.” Not for everything that comes down the pike but in everything; God is still in control, and His nature is merciful, loving kindness.
I love the Thanksgiving Season, with the fall colors, crisp weather, awesome food, and family love. But the #1 priority is the returning of love and thanks to our Heavenly Father, for His goodness to us! As we take inventory of our blessed lives and begin to count out blessings; on the positive side of life’s ledger, we find that the good far outweighs the bad. When we praise the Lord with a thankful heart we stifle our tendency to complain. God hates murmuring and people can’t stand to hang out with whiners so let’s cheer up and realize the kindness of Jesus to us. ”Forget not all His benefits,” as it were. Let me encourage you to practice God’s will for you this Thanksgiving season.
Thankfully,
Pastor John
